The Yankees have signed 25 year old, second baseman, Robinson Cano to a new four year contract with club options for 2012 and 2013. He had a great season last year, batting .306, with 93 runs scored, 41 doubles, 7 triples, 19 home runs, 97 RBI's, and a .328 batting average.
In his 2006 and 2007 seasons, he ranked 1st among second baseman in hits, doubles, and RBI's and 2nd in home runs.
I think this is a great decision. Cano shows great potential now and for the future. He'll continue to improve and become an even more important asset to the team.

Despite being a Boston fan, it will prolably help the Yankees to pick a young player who can grow over the next few years with the team.
